Meghalaya, also known as "Abode of Clouds", is one of the most greenest and most beautiful States among the Seven states of the Northeast, known as the Seven Sisters.
The itineraries brings you the best of Meghalaya, covering both famous places like the root bridges, the cleanest village - Mawlynnong, and the magically transparent Umngot river, along with experiences you can't expect to have unless you know the place well.
After a usual sightseeing session in Sohra (Cherrapunjee), you climb down 3200 steps to reach Nongriat village, where lush greenery and amazing waterfalls welcome you, along with some super friendly people and mouth watering food. Exploring one whole day in that village, with a small trek to Rainbow falls (you get to see a rainbow if there is sunshine) and two nights stay at the village, this is one experience you are going to cherish. Not to mention that the famous double decker root bridge, and many other root bridges are in and around this village.
After this refreshing experience, you head to Shnongpdeng, which lies adjacent to the Umngot river. On the way, you are welcomed by some breathtaking views and then, you get to exploring Mawlynnong, and the amazing viewpoint of Bangladesh made on top of a tree near the root bridge near Mawlynnong. The drive from Mawlynnong to Shnongpdeng is another enjoyable stretch, with a few waterfalls on the way, and the roads going parallel to the Bangladesh border.
The next morning is to explore the beauty of the river and the amazing bridge there, and then heading into the river in fishermens boats. You are also free to buy some fish from the locals and get it cooked by them, as this day is a lazy day for you to relax in the river and enjoy. You just need to pack up and leave by afternoon.
Next day is about exploring the capital city Shillong and all of its street food and shopping streets.

Arrive in Guwahati airport or railway station as per scheduled time and drive down to Shillong. Check in to your hotel. Relax, or explore the city if there's time.
Fun starts today. First, we head to Cherrapunjee after breakfast. Once in Cherrapunjee, Visit the famous Nohkalikai falls which is the poster image for many Calendars all over India. After this, we head out to a slight adventure at Mawsmai Caves, exploring the stalactites and stalagmites, and doing the fun and adventurous walk in the cave trail. Next up is the 7 sisters falls which will get you in complete awe. Now we head down to Nongriat Village climbing down 3200 steps. Once at the homestay in the village, it's time to have dinner and take some much needed rest. Those who still have energy left can take the 2 minute walk to the double decker living root bridge and take a refreshing dip in the pool there.
After breakfast today, we head to the Living root bridges. After spending enough time there and clicking pictures, it's time to continue in the trail and take the 1.5 hour trek to Rainbow Falls. While it sounds tiring, it isn't, and whatever tiredness seeps in is immediately washed away by the beauty of the falls. You can have a refreshing dip in the pools there and also spot a rainbow if there's sunshine. After spending enough time here, we head back to the homestay for a much needed dinner and a relaxing night.
Today, we say goodbye to Nongriat and climb back to Tyrna village. Now we start the drive to Mawlynnong (Asia's cleanest Village) on some of the most beautiful roads you'll see. After exploring the village on foot and may be shopping for some souvenirs, we head the drive to Shnongpdeng. This is the village where the transparent river flows by (known popularly by the destination Dawki). It might be evening by the time we reach so we check into our camp and have dinner and campfire by the river. Retire in your tent for some very well required and earned rest.
Lazy day today. Start with a slow breakfast, and then we head out in a boat on the river, and do the river activities too for whoever is interested. Once this is done, we check out of the camps and head to Krang Suri falls. This would be the last waterfall visit on the itinerary so make the best use of it in terms of pics and enjoyment. After this, we resume the drive to Shillong. Once in Shillong, you can do a little shopping at Police Bazaar if there is time, or enjoy the amazing city view from your hotel terrace and retire for the night.
After breakfast, we head to Laitlum Canyons, also known as the Grand Canyon of India. Once here, you can enjoy the beauty of this place and take pictures to your heart's content. Once back, you can explore the city life in Shillong, have lunch, do some shopping, and even check out the night life in Shillong. If interested, you can visit Ward's Lake and the Churches in Shillong.
Start the drive to Guwahati as per flight timings. If time permits, visit the Umiam Lake viewpoint. You would prefer staying back in Meghalaya but please do get on the flight cherishing the memories made in these beautiful places, and promising that you will be back soon for more of these beautiful moments.
